For many people, Lent is a time to practice some self-discipline and give something up for 40 days–sweets, coffee, alcohol, Netflix, etc. And while these are wonderful ways to offer up your sacrifices as a prayer, God has even more in store for us during this penitential season.
In the introductory video of the #ShareJesus Lenten initiative, co-sponsored by Franciscan University, we are encouraged to return to the “why” of Lent and the “who” that we are drawing nearer to.
If you’re looking for a way to take your Lent to the next level spiritually, you can find out more about the #ShareJesus initiative here. We also highly recommend you check out Power and Purpose conference speaker Fr. Matt Williams’ spirit-filled YouTube videos, centered around the theme “Feast and Fast”.
You can take the message of these Lenten messages a step further by learning to #ShareJesus at the Defending the Faith Conference or the St. John Bosco Conference for Catechists and Religious Educators. Or, immerse yourself in the feasting and fasting of the Christian life in the Scriptures at the Applied Biblical Studies Conference or through strengthening your relationship with the Holy Spirit at the Power and Purpose Conference. And, of course, clergy and seminarians will be renewed in their vocations at the Priests, Deacons, and Seminarians Retreat.
May God Bless your Lenten journey. You are in our prayers!
